High Risk Product Compliance Requirements
Overview
Please read through the entire document to ensure that your business is fully compliant with all applicable guidelines. Failure to comply with these laws and regulations may result in fines and/or termination of your merchant account.
General Website Requirements
- Must not make any health claims or use the following terms: “prevent”, “diagnose”, “mitigate”, “treat”, “cure”, or similar.
- This rule applies to merchant websites and social media.
- Must not sell or ship to regions where product ingredients are banned/illegal.
- Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy must be clearly displayed.
- Customer Service Contact must be clearly displayed. Two forms of contact are required (e.g., phone and email).
GLP conducts ongoing monitoring of websites, social media, customer reviews, and blogs. Maintaining compliance is the merchant’s responsibility.
All product additions must be pre-approved by GLP. COAs must be compliant and provided when applicable.
GLP holds a 10% reserve on all merchant accounts offering the products outlined in this addendum.
CBD and Other Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids
- All products must comply with the 2018 Farm Bill: ≤0.3% Delta-9 THC.
- Do not ship to: Idaho, New Hampshire, South Dakota — 0% Delta-9 THC required by law.
- COAs are required for all products containing CBD, hemp, or other cannabinoids.
- Only hemp-derived cannabinoids are permitted — synthetic cannabinoids are prohibited.
- FDA disclaimer must be clearly visible on homepage and/or product pages.
Delta-8
All CBD rules apply. In addition, include this disclaimer on each product page:
This product is not available for shipment to the following states:
- Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia
THCA
All CBD rules apply. In addition, include this disclaimer on each product page:
This product is not available for shipment to the following states:
- Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont
Products with Total THC above 0.3% must not be shipped to these states.
Kratom
- FDA disclaimer must be clearly visible on homepage and/or product pages.
- Each product page must include this disclaimer:
This product is not available for shipment to the following:
- States: Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, Wisconsin
- Counties: Sarasota County (FL), San Diego (CA), Oceanside (CA), Alton (IL), Jerseyville (IL), Edwardsville County (IL), Columbus (MS), Union County (MS), Ascension (LA), Franklin (LA), Rapides (LA)
American Express does not allow processing for kratom. AMEX transactions will be disabled for these merchants.
Amanita Muscaria
- COAs must include test results for: Muscimol, Ibotenic Acid, Psilocybin, Psilocin.
- Products containing Psilocybin or Psilocin are strictly prohibited — COAs must show “not detected.”
- Do not ship Amanita products to the state of Louisiana.
